    Quick Answer

What Documents Are Required for MM2H Application?

Most MM2H applications require an application letter, applicant resume, MM2H application form, IM.12 form, passport-sized photos, certified passport copies, Personal Bond, Letter of Good Conduct, health declaration, financial documents, income proof, and an authorization letter.

If dependents are included, additional documents such as marriage certificate, birth certificates, adoption documents, stepchild documents, parents' documents, medical confirmation for disabled children, and dependent expense declaration may be required.

HH MM2H helps applicants review which documents may apply based on their profile, family structure, nationality, current passport history, MM2H category, and latest official requirements.

    Before You Prepare

Before You Prepare Your MM2H Documents

MM2H document preparation should be done carefully because incomplete, unclear, expired, or wrongly certified documents can delay the application process.

HH MM2H recommends that applicants pay attention to:

    • Whether documents need to be certified true copies
    • Whether documents need English translation
    • Whether dependents need separate forms
    • Whether passport copies include all required pages
    • Whether financial documents cover the correct period
    • Whether police clearance or Letter of Good Conduct is properly issued
    • Whether family documents clearly prove the relationship
    • Whether old passport copies are required after passport renewal

    Document Checklist

    MM2H Application Document Checklist

Use this HH MM2H checklist as a general guide for preparing an MM2H application. Requirements may change, and the final checklist should be confirmed before submission.

    1

    Letter of Application

A letter from the applicant requesting participation in the Malaysia My Second Home programme. This letter should clearly state the applicant's intention to apply for MM2H and may include basic applicant information, purpose of application, and family or dependent details where relevant.

    2

    Resume of Main Applicant

A copy of the main applicant's resume should be prepared. The resume should include academic qualifications, work experience, and skills and expertise. This helps provide background information about the applicant's education, professional history, and overall profile.

    3

    MM2H Application Form

A completed MM2H application form is required for the applicant and each dependent. Each person included in the application should have the relevant form completed accurately. HH MM2H can guide applicants on how the forms fit into the overall application file.

    4

IM.12 Form — Social Visit Pass

Three copies of the IM.12 form are required: one original copy and two photocopies. The applicant and each dependent must complete this form individually.

    5

    Passport-Sized Photographs

Prepare four recent colour passport-sized photographs. Photos should be clear, recent, and suitable for official application use.

    6

Copy of Passport or Travel Documents

A certified copy of all passport pages should be prepared, including pages with personal details. If the applicant or dependent renewed their passport within the last 12 months, a copy of the previous passport is required. This is important because passport history may be needed to verify travel identity and recent passport changes.

    7

    Personal Bond

A Personal Bond completed and signed by a Malaysia director, shareholder, or manager from an MM2H-licensed company is required. This is required only for the main applicant. HH MM2H can explain how the Personal Bond applies when the application is handled through a licensed MM2H company.

    8

    Letter of Good Conduct

A Letter of Good Conduct, or LGC, is required from the police authority in the applicant's home country or from the Embassy in Malaysia. The LGC must reference the police authority and be attested by the Embassy. This document helps support the applicant's background and good conduct record. HH MM2H advises applicants to plan this document early because processing time can vary by country.

    9

    Health Declaration

A self-declaration of health status is required for the applicant and dependents. This declaration helps provide basic health information before further medical-related requirements are completed.

    10

    Marriage Certificate

If the applicant is accompanied by a spouse, a certified copy of the marriage certificate is required. The document should clearly prove the relationship between the main applicant and spouse.

    11

Birth Certificates or Legal Documents for Dependents

Certified copies of birth certificates or relevant legal documents are required for children, adopted children, stepchildren, or parents included in the application. For disabled children above 21 years old, include a letter from a medical specialist or general practitioner. A statutory declaration by the applicant may also be required to confirm that the applicant will cover all expenses for dependents during their stay. HH MM2H can help applicants identify which family documents are relevant before the application file is prepared.

    12

    Financial Documents

Certified copies of bank statements or other financial documents from the last three months should be prepared to show the applicant's financial capability to support their stay in Malaysia. Financial documents should be clear, complete, and consistent with the applicant's stated financial position.

    13

    Income Proof

Certified copies of the last three months' payslips, income statements, pension slips, or other income proof may be required. Income proof helps support the applicant's financial background and ability to maintain themselves and their dependents in Malaysia.

    14

    Authorization Letter

An authorization letter from the applicant is required to allow the Malaysia My Second Home Centre to verify financial documents with the relevant financial institutions. This supports the verification process for financial documents submitted with the application.

    Certification & Translation

    Certified Copies and Translation

Some documents may need to be certified as true copies. Some documents may also need to be translated into English.

Applicants should confirm certification and translation requirements before submission, especially for marriage certificates, birth certificates, police records, bank documents, or documents issued in languages other than English.

Where required, translations should be handled by recognized or accepted parties, and certified true copies should be prepared properly. HH MM2H can help applicants understand which documents may need closer attention before submission.

    Document Translation & Certification

Applicants should prepare supporting documents carefully before dealing with MM2H pass-related matters. The Immigration Department states that documents must be translated into English where required. Translations may be done by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, or by a Malaysian Embassy or Consulate General abroad.

Marriage certificates and birth certificates may also need Certified True Copy certification. According to the Immigration Department page, CTC certification may be done by a Malaysian Embassy or Consulate General abroad, or by a public notary in Malaysia.
